A few weeks ago I lost a great man and that broke me. My heart was broken because his death wasn’t natural, my heart was broken because the Nigerian government especially Lagos state and the ministry of environment or whoever it is that handles flood and drainages was at fault, my heart was broken because he was a father to many, a friend to a lot, a brother to all and confidant to us.

My friend who by the way is a very strong man sent me a message in the middle of the night saying his mum was at the emergency ward. My strong friend and by strong I mean really strong both physically and emotionally. He is a typical case of what the street would call *awon ti aya won ti ki* the guy can do and undo. In my mind the guy has like 10 livers and here he was in the middle of the night at the emergency ward crying profusely like a baby over his mother who was at the brink of death.
